Intelligence is not about how many braincells we have but about how many connections we can make with them. The idea that "two heads are better than one" is not a new one, but two heads are not just twice as good, they are 100 billion to the power of two times as good!
Networking allows us to share our connections and become exponentially more intelligent.
There's still a few Neanderthals about though!

Very interesting Phil. I can cite a similar example from not that long ago (100 years) As you know, I'm born and raised in Kenya. The South Asian community there is of course a minority but even today, dominant in business and commerce. From the values instilled in us from young through our role models, their success has come about through networking primarily.

Great blog, Phil. You couldn't be more right! Facebook is a way to stay visible with people that you might lose contact with otherwise. And since objectives change across time, FB allows us to keep our personal, professional, spiritual and physical goals out their and available for our networks to support, inform or refer resources to. After all, friends and family are two solid sources of potential referrals of all kinds. As long as we respect the referral process, whether it face-to-face our out on the web, social media can only help us grow as individuals and entrepreneurs!

Thanks Phil. That is a great reminder to all of us who are so busy in looking for new customers and creating new strategies that at times, we forgot the "low hanging fruits" waiting for us to touch.
